French Mastiffs mature slowly. They are super stubborn and need consistent loving training. If allowed they will try and test their boundaries.
Mine luckily isn't a slobber prone dog. He however is huge and doesn't realize his size. He gets behind our legs and tries to get into our laps. He is super loving but takes some time to follow a rule. He isn't dumb he just tried to do what he wants. When he doesn't get his way or wants something he will get vocal and lay down and refuse to move. They are a very entertaining dog.
Because of their size they eat a ton every month. And you have to be careful as they grow to not stress their joints. Due to their size if not fed a high quality dog food they can be prone to hip dysplasia.
The good thing is they don't tend to bark very much and are usually very happy and passive dogs.
